ShotSherpa is retired

Sherpa is the name of an ethnic group from Tibet and Nepal. Westerners visiting Nepal to climb mountains misunderstood the name, and applied it to every Nepalese professional porter or guide they met. The modern world has continued to misappropriate the name by using it to sell products.

We've been doing that. It's wrong, and we're stopping.

We've made a donation to the Juniper Fund, a charity that "supports and empowers families and communities impacted by the loss of Himalayan high-altitude workers." You can read more about why using Sherpa to sell things is a problem at the Reclaiming Sherpa blog and on Quartz.
